QUINTO’CLOCK® – wall clock with musical circle of fifths

QUINTO’CLOCK® is a wall clock designed in 2020 by the composer and pianist Katia Tchemberdji.

Instead of numbers, the clock face depicts the keys of the circle of fifths. A circle of fifths is a systematic arrangement of all major and minor keys in the form of a circle.

If you always look at the QUINTO’CLOCK®, you can read the time in keys! Example: “We meet in the afternoon shortly after A major!” – i.e. shortly after 3 pm! Or: “We were supposed to meet at A major in the afternoon – and now it’s already E major (or F sharp minor depending on your mood)!” – i.e. we were supposed to meet at 3 pm and now it’s already 4 pm!
